A biomedical customer has an on-demand, print and apply application. The area the label was being used is considered a low dust area just below clean room status. The customer uses hundreds of thousands of labels. With so many rolls of labels going through a thermal transfer printer, the edge of the cardboard rolls created a serious dust issue.
What can be done?
The solution was to use plastic cores. The customer didn’t even know they were available. For extra measure, we package the rolls in heavy plastic before boxing.
